A gentle Christmas hello — and a year-long crochet project 💛

Hi Reader,

I just wanted to pop into your inbox during this gentle, in-between week and say I hope you had a really lovely Christmas.

I hope there was a bit of rest, a bit of calm, maybe some family chaos mixed in 😄 (certainly plenty of that here!)— and that you managed to squeeze in at least a little crochet time, even if it was just a few quiet stitches with a cup of tea.

This space between Christmas and New Year always feels like a slower, more reflective pause — and it also feels like a really lovely time to look ahead gently to what’s coming next. Although if you're anything like me, you've still got a fair few family events to come yet!

One thing I’ve been quietly working on is a year-long crochet project that I’m really excited to share with you.

🧶 The Tunisian Entrelac Temperature Shawl Crochet-Along

This is a slow, mindful make designed to grow alongside your year — one small square at a time.

It’s:

  • made using Tunisian Crochet Entrelac (don't worry, it's really easy even if you're never done Tunisian Crochet before!)
  • worked as one tiny square per day, based on the day's temperature
  • and designed to be a calm, comforting, long-term project, not something to rush

If you’ve never made a temperature project before, don’t worry — I’ll be guiding you through it step by step.

To get started, I’ve put together a supply list and preparation guide, and you can sign up now to receive it.

Signing up will:

  • send the supply list straight to your inbox
  • add you to the crochet-along updates
  • make sure you don’t miss any of the tutorials or guidance as we go

There’s absolutely no pressure to be perfect with this project — it’s very much about showing up when you can, enjoying the stitches, and letting the shawl tell the story of your year.

Thank you so much for being here, for supporting my work, and for being part of this little crochet corner of the internet. I’m so grateful for you — and I’m really looking forward to crocheting alongside you in the year ahead.

Wishing you a peaceful, cosy few days between Christmas and New Year 💛

With so much gratitude,
Gemma

P.S. I’ll be sharing a little look back at this year’s patterns very soon — but for now, let’s keep things slow and cosy ✨
